The 2025 World Chinese Language Conference was held in Beijing from Nov 14 to 16. Approximately 2,000 participants attended the conference, including officials from educational authorities, international organizations, representatives from Chinese and foreign universities, international language and culture promotion agencies, experts, scholars, business representatives, and diplomats from over 160 countries and regions.
Jia Wenjian, president of the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and deputy secretary of the CPC BFSU Committee, and Zhao Gang, a member of the standing committee of the CPC BFSU Committee and vice-president of the university, attended the opening ceremony, plenary sessions, and some parallel sessions of the conference.

Jia Wenjian was invited to attend the parallel session of the conference on "Cross-Civilization Dialogue and the Cultivation of Young Scholars in China Studies," and delivered a themed speech.
Jia emphasized that BFSU will leverage its multilingual advantages and regional and country-specific research platforms to cultivate global leaders who "accompany Sinology and walk alongside China." He said the university aims to spread the seeds of Sinology across the globe, contributing more wisdom and strength from BFSU to preserving the shared spiritual wealth of humanity and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Zhao Gang participated in the parallel session on "Construction of Localized Chinese Language Education System in the Digital Intelligence Era." He systematically shared the BFSU's practices and cutting-edge thinking in the field of international Chinese education, focusing on three main areas: innovation in local education models, enhancing the effectiveness of teacher training, and adapting the development of teaching resources.
At this conference, the Confucius Institutes co-established by BFSU and its partners received several awards and achievements. The Confucius Institute in Barcelona, Spain, was awarded the "2025 CTC Outstanding Test Center"; the Confucius Institutes at Moscow State Linguistic University in Russia, Munich in Germany, and Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem in Hungary were recognized as "2025 HSK Outstanding Test Center".

Jia Wenjian also signed the "Tripartite Agreement among Center for Language Education and Cooperation, BFSU and the Universiti Malaya on Postgraduates Program in International Chinese Education." This initiative aims to deepen educational exchange and cooperation worldwide.
The International Exchange and Cooperation Office at BFSU, along with relevant teaching and research units, participated in organizing some of the activities. Over 100 faculty and students from BFSU provided high-quality simultaneous interpretation and volunteer services for the conference, earning high praise from the attendees.
